An unidentified construction worker from Tulsa was killed in a worksite accident on Tuesday. He was a dump truck driver working on a road excavation project. The accident happened on South Jamestown Avenue.

The driver had gotten out of the truck to pull a tarp over the bed of the truck, Willingham said. At the same time the driver of the backhoe was backing up and did not realize that the dumptruck driver was outside of this truck.

The man was pinned between the dumptruck and the backhoe, Willingham said.

The victim died at the scene of the accident. The police are still investigating and the accident will be looked into by Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA).
