A temporary employee was not properly trained and was crushed to death, after being told, on her second day of work, to clean and unjam a large machine that cut Styrofoam. The family filed a lawsuit against her employer and the staffing agency.

To meet production quotas, Insulfoam and its staffing service "removed or circumvented" safety guards used to turn off the cutting machine during cleaning, the lawsuit said. The action violated federal law and violated safety rules of the staffing agency, Remedy Intelligent Staffing.

Bill Glover, the husband of the deceased stated "They were not doing what needed to be done to protect their workers," he said. "That's the hardest part, knowing how industrial plants are supposed to operate and then having something like this happen."

Workers are often not properly trained and many companies fail to follow safety protocols which can cause serious injury and death. If you or a loved one has been injured at work then contact me to discuss if you have a case against your employer.
