Golden Living Center, a Nebraska nursing home, was fined for leaving an elderly resident unattended. The state department of Health and Human Services did an investigation and found that the nursing home discharged the resident because the family couldn't pay.

The facility then transported the resident to the family's home and they refused to accept the resident because they couldn't care for them. The facility placed the resident in a lawn chair and left the resident.

Golden Living Center was fined $3,000 and placed on probation for six months.
