Senators Martinez and Kohl have recently introduced the “Fairness in Nursing Home Arbitration Act”. The bill provides that arbitration agreements signed between the nursing homes and residents or their responsible third parties during the admission process are unenforceable. Hopefully, the bill can gain both Republican and Democratic support. I urge people to call their federal representative to urge their support. Nursing home residents deserve this protection.
