A 2-year-old girl died because of an industrial-strength pesticide was placed in her family's home to kill roaches. The pesticide used is Phostoxin and was in a pellet form. The toxic gas is released when it comes in contact with moisture. The pesticide is for commercial use only, to be applied by licensed professionals.

Four adults also were in the home and were in the hospital. Two adults have been released and two others still remain in the hospital.

Police have identified a person who may have given the commercial pesticide to the family and criminal charges could be pursued, Lubbock television station KCBD reported.
