A company has recalled canned chili, stews and meats because it may have been contaminated with Botulism. Castleberry Foods has issued the product recall after several people fell ill after eating their hot dog chili.

Connors Bros. said the recall has been extended to chili, beef stew and other canned meat products, as well as four pet food products. The list includes two Great Value chili products which are sold only in Canada.

The canned dog food products are sold under the Natural Balance brand. The company has shut down the U.S. manufacturing plant where the products are made. Botulism is a nerve toxin that may cause paralysis in the lungs or muscles.
