A car accident yesterday morning shut down Loop 1604 during morning rush hour. An 18 year old woman crossed the double-yellow line and hit a northbound pick-up truck. Both vehicles involved in the crash rolled over, and Loop 1604 was closed between Military Drive and Highway 151.

The 18-year-old woman initially told police a man who had been driving her SUV had fled the scene of the accident. Later, police say, she admitted she was driving by herself.

Police say she had been drinking and if the driver of the pickup dies, she'll possibly face a charge of intoxication manslaughter. Her own injuries are not considered life threatening.
