Two teenagers out for a late drive on Friday night were involved in a single car accident. One teenager was killed and the other was hospitalized. The victim was a 17-year-old from Pottsboro.
The accident occured just before midnight Friday night on FM 996 and Scotthill Road. Texas DPS Troopers say the two teenagers were traveling south on Scotthill Road, when they lost control of their vehicle at the curve. The vehicle slid off the road and hit a tree on the right passenger side.
Seatbelts were worn by both teenagers. The passenger was killed and the driver is in the hospital being treated for injuries.
