In March 2006, Walter Browning was seriously injured when his motorcycle collided with an 18-Wheeler near Waco.

Mr. Browning was riding a 2003 Honda Shadow around 3 p.m. when the 18-wheeler, changed lanes, struck Mr. Browning and knocked him off his motorcycle.

Browning, a 13-year Army veteran and former security guard, lost four fingers on his left hand and can no longer walk without assistance because of massive injuries to his left leg, his attorneys said.

Jurors awarded him damages for past and future physical injuries, disfigurement, physical impairment and medical expenses.
