Three major accidents have happened in the last week at the intersection of Vance Jackson and Border Mill. The city is taking action and putting a 4-way stop to hopefully decrease these deadly accidents in this area. A woman was killed crossing the street and the latest accident took a homeowner’s fence down.

City Councilwoman Diane Cibrian explained:

"Vance Jackson has become a deadly corridor in the city of San Antonio."

When intersections like Vance Jackson become dangerous the city has to respond. Besides a 4-way stop they are lowering the speed limit in the area from 40 mph to 30 mph and adding warning signs and reflectors.

Another deadly intersection in San Antonio is getting a traffic signal this week. The intersection is Roan Park and Evans Road. A frightening collision involving a school bus in 2007 prompted the City and NEISD to take action. Although no children were seriously injured in that car wreck the potential dangers were brought to the City’s attention.

If you are concerned about a dangerous intersection contact the Public Works Department http://www.sanantonio.gov/news/ or your city council member http://www.sanantonio.gov/Council.
