According to claim data and a recent report by Allstate Insurance, Austin drivers are the worst in the state of Texas. The report ranked drivers for safety in 21 Texas cities. It also compared them to drivers around the country in other major cities. Drivers in Austin are 31 percent more likely to get into a car accident than other drivers around the country.

Drivers in Dallas are 30 percent more likely to have a wreck.

Houston drivers are 24 percent more likely and San Antonio drivers are 23 percent more likely to be in a wreck.

Nationally, Austin ranks 179th among nearly 200 U.S. cities included in the survey.

Causes of car accidents was not a factor in the rankings.
